As a young adult who grew up in the twenty first century, technology has had an enormous impact on my life. Since I was little I have always been surrounded by technology from the tv, to online games, tutoring, and even had learning electronics. However the influence of technology did not stop there, it has continuously been growing more and more in my life. In fifth grade I was able to use an iPhone better than most of the adults that were in my life. By the time I made it to middle school I was almost a pro with all the apps and gadgets along with using the internet. I had social media accounts on almost all the networks varying from Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and even Twitter.
When I reached high school I was given an iPad that held all my books within the small thin device. On the iPad contained everything I needed until I finished high school. We took notes on the iPads, made iMovies, created art on them, and even used the iPads for music in my freshman choir class. At this point in my life is where I learned how to use technology for writing and other literacy techniques. The iPads were used for almost every writing assignment, for in class essays, projects, and even power-points we would present. For our writing assignments I was able to navigate safari to find information, facts, and picture that I could use and incorporate into my projects. Not only did we have a majority of our assignments on the iPad we also had all our tests and quizzes online as well. At this point it is clear that technology has been a huge part of my life and has greatly influenced me as I have grown up.
The use of technology has also helped me find the style, tone, and creativity that I like to write in. Like I mentioned in one of my other blogs, which was the literacy narrative, I like to write in a somewhat sarcastic tone and try to incorporate visuals as well for more vivid writing. Due to technology I am able to use apps and websites that allow me to use my writing style and creativity and mold them together. Technology furthered my understanding in my own writing style after I discovered my tone and technique while I was younger. Because todays technology is so advanced, I expect my understanding of my own style and tone of writing to evolve and for me to learn more about myself and my writing. The impact that technology has had on my life overall has fathered my writing style and tone along with allowing me to use my creativity at its maximum.
